200,000 British to protest budget cuts

Over 200,000 people are expected to march in London on Saturday to protest against the coalition government's austerity measures and planned cuts to public services.

Trades Union Congress (TUC) has organized the march, expected to attract hundreds of thousands of Londoners. The union leaders say that the Saturday protest would be the beginning of more extensive public actions in Britain.

The General Secretary of the British and Irish union Unite said the union and all its 1.5 million members back all the protests planned against the coalition government's cut plans since the government is scrapping £81 billion from the public services in order to eliminate a greater part of its budget deficit by 2015.

According to TUC, demonstrators will express the outrage of all the British that will be affected by the government's severe cuts . They want to reveal to Westminster that British people refuse the no-alternative argument.

Saturday's march is predicted to be the largest protest on London streets since the 2003 protests against Britain's involvement in the invasion of Iraq. The March 26 protest comes amid high unemployment rates and the increasing impact of the government's austerity measures on people's lives.
